I have been running Global Mapper under Parallels for years and it works great. Personally I don't see the benefit on a Mac since most engineering, surveying and GIS software in wide commercial use is Windows based.

We have no plans for a native Mac OS X version of Global Mapper. Some users run Global Mapper on their Mac computers using Boot Camp, and others (@txrpls among them) use Parallels. We don't provide official support for running Global Mapper in non-Windows environments, but you can ask questions here if you run into problems and another GM user might have the answer.
